Girls

Girls Are Changing The World

Like the young people for whom it is being created, this page is a work in progress. Right now, we’re starting with stories of kids who are just learning about the power of their philanthropy. You can read about GO MAD (Go Make A Difference) at St. Joan Antida High School, Cozy Heart Quilt Drive, and how the art fair at Lake Bluff Elementary School students brought clean water to students in central America. We hope you’ll share your stories and ideas with us — and with other kids in the Milwaukee area at Young Philanthropists

Resource Guide

We’ve also started a resource guide of Internet links to sites where you can learn the who’s, how’s and whys behind young philanthropists’ impact around the world:

Connect for Kids – compelling information and context on issues affecting children.

Youth Grantmakers – starting a Youth Advisory Committee.

Minnesota Toolkit for Giving – a wide variety of youth philanthropy resources.

Do Something – a great starting point for getting involved in volunteerism.

Young Philanthropists Fund

If you’d like to pay tribute to a young person with an honor gift, direct your contributions to the Young Philanthropists Fund.(link to donate now page?) Honorees are listed in the Annual Report. This fund will begin making grants directed to girls and children’s programs later this year.

Our goal is to provide information for parents and educators to help you teach the principles and practicalities of giving, and a place for your questions and suggestions.
