Grant Terms and Conditions

All grants are made in accordance with current and applicable laws and pursuant to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the "Code"), and the regulations issued thereunder. By accepting payment, the grantee agrees to adhere to the following conditions.

1. Use of Grant Funds. The Women's Fund of Greater Milwaukee, Inc. (the "Women's Fund"), grant funds, and income earned thereon, may be expended only for charitable, religious, scientific, literary, or educational purposes within the meaning of Code Section 501(c)(3). This grant is made only for the purposes stated in this letter, and it is understood that these grant funds will be used for such purposes substantially in accordance with the approved budget. It is also understood that no substantial variances, including the timing of expenditures, will be made from the approved budget without the Women's Fund's prior written approval.

2. Use of Income and Return of Unused Funds. The Women's Fund encourages, whenever feasible, the deposit of grant funds in an interest-bearing account. Any grant funds, and any income earned thereon, not expended or committed for the purposes of the grant will be returned to the Women's Fund.

3. Lobbying. Women's Fund grant funds may not be used by your organization to carry on propaganda, or otherwise to attempt to influence any legislation, within the meaning of Code Section 4945 and the Treasury Regulations there under without the prior written approval of the Women's Fund.

4. Required Reports. A brief mid-year email report is due no later than August 1, 2007. Please send this mid-year email report to info@womensfund.com.

A final report is due no later than February 1, 2008. The final report will be completed using the "Making the Case" tool. A financial statement reflecting expenditures of the grant funds, and any income earned thereon, according to the categories of the approved budget as of the end of the period covered by the report is also required.

5. Evaluation and Monitoring. The Women's Fund may monitor and conduct an evaluation of operations under this grant, which may include a visit from the Women's Fund directors or other personnel to observe your organization's program, discuss the program with your organization's personnel, and review financial and other records and materials connected with the activities financed by this grant.

6. Publicity. The Women's Fund encourages publicity of its grants. Please call our office if you have any questions concerning publicity. The Women's Fund may include information on this grant in its public reports and on its website and may also refer to the grant in a news release. Grantees are encouraged to make public announcements of this grant by developing news releases and writing stories for agency publications. For media purposes as well as on your donor list, such as in newsletters, annual reports, and other publications, please refer to this award as a grant from the Women's Fund of Greater Milwaukee, Inc.

7. Compliance with U.S. Law. Grantees must agree to comply with all applicable United States law.
