Women’s Fund 2009 Annual Celebration

Join us as we celebrate our investment in social change with Women’s Fund donors, grant partners, volunteers and friends on Tuesday, June 9, 2009.  For the first time, the event will feature The Social Change Exchange--a forum for grant partner leaders to discuss how they are achieving social change during these challenging times. A celebration of the accomplishments of the past year and recognition of the two recipients of the Lynde Uihlein Award for service to the Women’s Fund will follow.

Lynde B. Uihlein Award

The Women's Fund Lynde B. Uihlein Award will honor Doris Heiser and Maria Rodriguez.

Doris Heiser has been an advocate for women and philanthropy throughout her career and especially in her role at the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. She helped start the Women’s Fund in 1986 and the African American Women’s Fund Project in 1999. She has been a donor every year of the Women’s Fund’s 23 year history.

Maria Rodriguez has dedicated her life to community service through her career and her volunteer work. A Women’s Fund volunteer since 2003, Maria organized Latinas en Acción to give visibility to Latina leadership and support to organizations making improvements in the Latino community. Maria also helped shape and launch the Women’s Fund’s social change grantmaking program.
