Great news! There's no better time to make a gift to the African American Women's Fund Project. New or increased gifts to will be matched by the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors’ Cultures of Giving Program with major funding by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.

African American Women's Fund Project

Our Mission

To support African American women and girls in the greater Milwaukee area through a citywide collective effort that brings a better quality of life. This fund is about "women helping women" and being responsible for the well-being and health of our African American women who represent the future.

Our Vision

To provide financial support for African American women and girl organizations through collaboration with other groups whose goals are to promote well-being of African American women and girls.

How We Work

For more than two centuries, African-Americans have collectively pooled resources to assist the needs of individuals and those of the community. Their enduring contributions of time, talent and money ensured our survival. We are about generating financial resources to support the fund; establishing, maintaining and expanding a network for African American women; and collaborative support efforts with organizations that advocate for issues that affect African American women and girls. Our goal is to endow the African American Women's Fund Project through special events and annual fund raising.

The Living Legacy Program

The Living Legacy program is a way to honor a special African American woman in your life. In exchange for a tribute gift of $1,200 that may be pledged and paid over 12 months, we will feature a full-page photo of you and your honoree in a beautiful coffee table book that will be distributed to Living Legacy participants at our upcoming event. You and your honoree will be special guests.
